Drag it onto the window, or right-click it and choose “Share with Zen-Share”. There is no step where you name the file, tag it, or put it in a workspace.

Same network for the laptop across the table, Internet for the person across an ocean. Add a password if the link on its own worries you.

Copy it, or let them scan the code. Click Stop and it stops, immediately, with no “your link expires in 7 days unless you upgrade”.
Everything you need to send a file
And nothing you do not. Zen-Share is a single small app: no installer bloat, no background services.
Same-network mode
Wi-Fi, LAN or a hotspot. The bytes cross the room instead of crossing an ocean twice to reach the desk beside you.
Internet mode
Their browser connects straight to your PC over WebRTC. We handle the introduction and then get out of the way, which is the entire reason there is nothing on our servers to leak. No port forwarding.
Instant QR codes
Point a phone camera at it and the download starts. Not “scan to continue in the app”. There is no app.
Auto-zip batches
Several files arrive as one download. Nobody in recorded history has wanted seventeen separate Save As dialogs.
Always ready
Sits in the tray holding its connection open so the next link is instant. That is all it does there. It is not also syncing anything.
Encrypted shares
Every internet share is AES-256-GCM encrypted, and the key rides in the part of the link your browser never sends to a server. Add a password and the key is locked behind it, so the link alone reveals neither the file nor its name.
Light and private
A 2 MB download and one 4.5 MB file on disk. No installer, no background service, and no updater checking in on you at three in the morning.
Auto-start
Launches on login if you ask it to. If you do not ask, it does not. We appreciate this is a low bar.
Automated stability
Optional crash reporting, where optional means optional and off means off. It sends a stack trace, not your files.

Does the person receiving the file need to install anything?
No. They open the link in any browser on any device and the download begins. Only the sender needs Zen-Share.
Is Zen-Share free?
Yes, entirely. No account, and no size or file-count limit on what you send, on your local network or over the internet.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Your own device acts as the server, so the file goes straight from you to the recipient. Nothing is stored in the cloud.
Can I send files between my phone and my PC?
Yes. From your PC you can send to a phone, or open a request link on the phone to send files back, both over Wi-Fi and over the internet. A dedicated Android app is in development.
Download Zen-Share
On Windows, unzip and run Zen-Share.exe (4.5 MB). The Android app is still in development and is not on Google Play yet. Right now, a phone receives files by opening the link in its browser, with nothing to install.
To run Zen-Share: open Windows Security > Virus and threat protection > Protection history, find the blocked Zen-Share item, click Actions, and choose Restore or Allow on device. Code signing is in progress and will stop these prompts for good.
